GM Sales Worldwide By Nation & Brand : 2013

The Malibu - part of the large Chevy brand

GM sales by region were not much of a surprise. China sales were good, but maybe a ceiling is close to being reached there. Europe is still depressed as we all know. The 'Rest' figure was disappointing though.

2013 2012 +/-

North America 3,234,275 3,019,482 7%

China 3,160,374 2,836,128 11%

Europe 1,556,754 1,610,711 -3%

South America 1,037,458 1,051,040 -1%

Rest 725,791 779,713 -7%

Total 9,714,652 9,297,074 4%

Looking at brands within the group, the big ones went nowhere. I'm surprised that Opel/Vauxhall even managed to break even. Buick is popular in China, hence the growth. I'm curious why GM would have so many sales under 'Others'. Nice to see Caddy doing well.

2013 2012 +/-

Chevrolet 4,984,126 4,964,822 0%

Opel/Vauxhall 1,063,979 1,068,040 0%

Buick 1,032,331 895,133 15%

Cadillac 250,830 195,612 28%

Others 2,383,386 2,173,467 10%

Total 9,714,652 9,297,074 4%

Data source: Thanks to GM.

The GMC Sierra has to be content with being an 'Other'
