For 2011, 35 nations were featured in the top brands in European nations, but this year it is 39. Belarus, Moldova, San Marion and Monaco join this year. VW as the largest supplier of cars to the region is unsurprisingly the leader, with 17 nations. One brand leaves (SEAT who lost Spain) and a new one arrives (Audi which came with new entry Monaco).
VW's lead in so many markets is surprising, seeing as the products in their range are not that outstanding. Renault holds up well considering it's downward sales, while Skoda is strong in Eastern Europe. Ford's solo effort in the UK is disappointing for such a big player in the region while Audi was top in the only market in the world I know of, in luxury Monaco.
So here they are:
|VW – 17||Dacia – 2|
|Croatia||Lada – 2|
|Ireland||Opel – 2|
|Luxembourg||Toyota – 2|
|Spain||Audi - 1|
|Renault – 4||Fiat – 1|
|Skoda – 4||Hyundai -1|
|Serbia||Volvo – 1|
