Car Sales Romania: 2012

Back in the boom times of 2007 over 300,000 cars were sold here, but the market is now much more restrained. With another 19% decrease for 2012, many brands retreated on the sales front. Ford, Hyundai, BMW and Audi actually increased volume, and moved up the chart accordingly. Back in 1987, Dacia had an unbelievable 87% share, but things have changed and I thing it did well with a modest range of vehicles to take a quarter as it did last year. Further down some big increases occurred. This is a country that buys European brands.

The first three columns show 2010 to 2012 ranking, the second column in from the right is increase or decrease, and the extreme right shows market share for the major brands.
