Car Sales Turkey: 2011


Car sales were strong here this year, the best year since at least 2000. Renault is a major car maker in the country and it consolidated its lead at the top, with ahealthy lead.

Good Gains: VW (+39.5%), Opel (+32.3%), Nissan (+64.4%) and MINI (+145%).

Losing Ground: Peugeot (-17.9%), Honda (-18.1%), Chery (-16.7%), Mazda (-28.1%) and Geely (-29.6%).

In mature markets, Chinese brands often have an initial surge, then fall back as they are doing in Turkey. Nissan jumped from 15th to 9th, and MINI from 32nd to 24th.
