Car Sales Nissan Europe: 2010

Nissan Europe is having a good time of it. Sales for the region were 555,000, a 13% increase in a market that was sightly down (-0,5%). Therefore, market share was up .3% to 3.1% as compared with 2009.

Markets:

1 UK 96,419 14%
2 Russia 84,288 22%
3 Germany 61,250 -4%
4 Italy 60,820 2%
5 France 59,850 24%
6 Spain 48,535 20%
7 Belgium/Lux 19,246 23%
8 Poland 13,507 10%
9 Holland 13,252 27%
10 Portugal 9,146 57%

Models:

Qashqai 235,462
Micra 72,504
Note 51,037
Pixo 35,381
X-Trail 24,486

It is obvious from those figures that the Qashqai (known as Dualis in some places) is a massive success, but maybe Nissan Europe is too reliant on one model. The new Juke has arrived and in December 6,689 units were sold. Compare that with nearly 20,000 Qashqais and it still has a way to go. The Juke is unusually styled and may take time to be more accepted. Often radical style takes time to be accepted to a largely conservative public. I personally like its 'out there' look.

Summary: Nissan is proving very successful in Europe, thanks especially to the Qashqai and surely the Juke now too.
