Car Sales Jaguar: 2010

Jaguar people are modest when it comes to crowing about their success. They are doing well but it isn't that easy to find out about it. I have only just found out the figure for China (26.01.11). How many Jaguars were sold in India for 2010? Who knows but it wouldn't be big as the brand is only being established there, but probably good enough to publicise.
Anyway, sales were up by my reckoning 2.6%, despite losing the X-Type as stocks ran out during the year. The biggest increases were in China (+43%) Netherlands (+45%) and Singapore (+56%).
In the chart below, italicised figures at the end of each line indicates a drop in market share. For sales by market for the top 20:

1 UK 16,400 30.5% -10.0
2 USA 13,350 24.8% 11.6
3 Germany 3,200 5.9% 8.8
4 China 2,650 5.6% 43.2
5 Italy 1,600 3.0% -10.5
6 Japan 1,150 2.1% -9.5
7 France 1,125 2.1% -3.6
8 Spain 1,100 2.0% -3.1
9 Belgium 1,080 2.0% -0.4
10 Australia 870 1.6% -14.3
11 Russia 860 1.6% -8.0
12 Canada 760 1.4% -6.1
13 Korea 725 1.3% 28.7
14 Switzerland 610 1.1% -16.6
15 South Africa 570 1.1% -9.6
16 Holland 430 0.8% 44.7
17 Austria 370 0.7% -7.0
18 Singapore 340 0.6% 56.2
19 Portugal 260 0.5% 32.3
20 India 250 0.5% 212.5%
21 Morocco 231 0.4% 148.4%
22 Sweden 220 0.4% 11.9
23 Ireland 214 0.4% 9.7%
24 Turkey 213 0.4% -19.0%
25 Lebanon 188 0.3% -3.6%

Other Countries 5,140 9.5%
Total Sales 53,860 2.6% increase.

Summary: Jaguar had a fine year with a great line up of cars. They now need a wider range of vehicles, as they well know.
