Car Sales Ireland: 2010

In Eire 2010 may have been up a massive 53.8%, but it was still an eye watering 100,000 sales below 2007. Nearly 2% of all sales are private imports, I presume from the UK. Ford and Toyota have had a dogfight over top spot all decade and for the last two years Ford has come out on top. Both lost share for the year while VW closed in so 2011 could be interesting. Renault had a monstrous increase but only jumped two places.

In the chart below, italicised figures at the end of each line indicates a drop in market share. Now for the top 20:

Ford 11,215 12.7% 38.1
Toyota 10,660 12.1% 40.2
VW 10,301 11.7% 66.8
Renault 9,746 11.0% 303.7
Opel 6,603 7.5% 63.2
Nissan 5,494 6.2% 17.3
Skoda 4,915 5.6% 105.6
Hyundai 2,959 3.3% 77.7
Peugeot 2,924 3.3% 65.6
Audi 2,723 3.1% 14.0
Kia 2,567 2.9% 69.1
BMW 2,493 2.8% 77.4
Mazda 2,243 2.5% 33.4
